The Goldsboro Family YMCA sponsors two federally-funded child nutrition programs: The Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) and Summer Food Service Program (SFSP). Through CACFP, we serve nutritious free meals at multiple preschool and afterschool care sites in Wayne County. During the summer months when school meals are not available, we provide nutritious free meals through SFSP at several sites across Wayne and Nash Counties.
The summer of 2020 we became a SFSP sponsor. We started with 4 sites and served 8,720 meals. Summer of 2021 we expanded into Nash County and sponsoring 6 sites and served 15,080 meals. We are looking to expand our SFSP and CACFP sites in and beyond Wayne County.
