Our Program
The Goldsboro Family YMCA offers a range of school-age childcare programs, including Child Watch, our Afterschool Program, and Summer Camp. Our programs focus on social-emotional, cognitive, and physical development in a safe and supportive environment.
Who We Serve
Nurturing caregivers provide attentive, hands-on care while parents use on-site facilities.
Child Watch
(6 weeks–5 years)
Our nurturing caregivers provide attentive, hands-on care while parents use on-site facilities. From soothing infants to leading interactive play and early learning activities for toddlers and preschoolers, staff are always present, engaged, and responsive to each child's needs.
All-Day Childcare
We aim to offer safe, engaging all-day childcare on teacher workdays and select holidays. Our program provides a fun, supportive environment where children can stay active, connect with friends, and enjoy structured activities—giving families reliable care when school is out.
Afterschool Program
Beyond homework help and healthy snacks, our team delivers a structured schedule of enrichment activities, physical play, and mentoring. Staff members know each child by name and personality, offering encouragement, support, and a listening ear.
Summer Camp
Our energetic and dedicated camp staff create unforgettable experiences. They lead campers in hands-on science experiments, outdoor adventures, team-building games, arts, and water play. Counselors are fully involved—from organizing activities to modeling positive behavior and guiding social-emotional development. Registration for 2026 is now open!

Message From Our Director of Youth Development
Hello! My name is Carlotta—most people call me Lottie—and I serve as the Director of Youth Development at the Y, where I lead programs that support children from 6 weeks to 11 years old, including Child Watch, Afterschool, and Summer Camp. I work alongside a passionate, hands-on team to create safe, engaging spaces where kids can grow emotionally, socially, and physically. My mission is to help young people conquer their fears, discover their strengths, and become their best selves—while learning to lift others up along the way. Every day, I'm driven by the belief that with the right support and encouragement, every child can thrive and become a confident, compassionate leader. I am excited to work with you and your child in building strong kids, strong families, and strong communities.
