We are delighted to announce Mark A. Pritchett as Goldsboro Family YMCA’s new Chief Executive Officer!

Mark A. Pritchett is an Executive Director of the Dover Foundation YMCA (Cleveland County YMCA, Shelby, North Carolina) who exemplifies servant leadership, embraces the mission “Helping all people reach their God given potential, in Spirit, Mind, and Body”. And the cause of the YMCA “Promising to strengthen our community through programs with emphasis in Youth Development, Healthy Living and Social responsibility”.

Mark believes that connection and collaboration are the building blocks of a strong community. Through shared leadership, all people can grow and thrive, families and individuals can transform-imagine… a place where every voice is heard, where your language is our language, where our mission of connecting people unleashes the true power of community.

Mark has been able to see this lived out through Partnership for Community Prosperity (P4CP), a community initiative of 40 plus agencies addressing housing, food desserts and lack of public transportation as three major problems in Cleveland County. Mark served as a school administrator for fifteen years working to lower dropout rates and increase graduation rates. Participating in a vibrant Parks and recreation program serving underserved communities.

Mark has joyfully and passionately served his community as a Y leader and believes that he has found his calling, purpose and life’s work and mission. He wakes up every morning excited about the fact that he will have an opportunity to make a significant difference in someone’s life every day. That is the magic of the YMCA, the opportunity to transform lives.

Mark is a native of Greensboro, NC and is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and Ambassador Baptist College. Mark also serves as the Pastor of Nations Baptist Church in Shelby. Mark and his wife Cynthia have an adult son Justin, have also served as foster parents for many years. Mark loves anything outdoors, high adventure. He is a veteran of the ARMY, patriot and lifelong learner.
