Over 50 percent of the U.S. population enjoys swimming as a leisure activity with total involvement exceeding walking, cycling, golf and tennis among other recreational activities. Due to the increasing interest in aquatics, the demand for qualified lifeguards and swim instructors is at an all-time high. New health risk challenges require the most up-to-date training available and the YMCA has it!
The Family YMCA recognizes the importance of safety in aquatics and is pleased to offer safety certifications in
American Red Cross Lifeguarding, CPR/AED and First Aid. We boast one of the top YMCA Aquatic facilities in the country with excellent training resources as well as job opportunities. Participation and completion of
the National ARC Lifeguarding course certifies class members as professional lifeguards with a
three-year certificate.
