Step 1

Make sure 911 has been called

Step 2

Turn unit on by pushing on button

Step 3

Open cover

Step 4

Prepare victims chest by removing shirt, wiping dry and shaving excessive hair

Step 5

Follow directions on pads and place on victim’s upper right and lower left chest..

Step 6

Listen to AED for instructions on shocking

Step 7

You will most likely will have to perform CPR before, during and after the AED does it’s job.

 If advised to shock, make sure everyone is clear and press the shock button.

 If NOT advised to shock, continue with CPR/Rescue Breathing or whatever appropriate First Aid is needed
